A Morning on the Chesapeake Bay
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a workshop offered by photographer Jay Fleming in Annapolis Maryland. Jay's passion for and knowledge of the history, heritage, and lifestyle of the men and women who live and work on and around the water is extraordinary and if you are not familiar with his work, you should check it out.
The two other participants and I spent the early hours of the morning with Jay on his boat under and by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, photographing the watermen crabbing in the area and the Sandy Point Lighthouse. Shooting on the water with a very different subject matter was a stretch for me, one that I enjoyed and hope to have the opportunity to do again soon. Here are a few of the images I made that morning.
