First Communion--The Real Deal

My daughter made her First Holy Communion yesterday evening. It was beautiful Mass celebrated with family and so many good friends. We are so blessed to be a part of such an amazing parish at Church of the Nativity in Timonium, Maryland where our children are loved and their souls are nourished. Father White's simple message spoke not only to our children, but to us all. To paraphrase as best I can--Through this Holy Communion, Jesus is in you, his love fills you and makes you more like him. Spend your life striving to be more like Him. Could one have a better charge?

Thank you so much to the Nativity kids' ministry leaders (you know who you are!) for making our children a priority, for supporting us parents in this awesome endeavor we have undertaken, and for giving our children gifts that we could not possibly provide on our own. I have no doubt that the lessons they have and will learn and the relationships they have and will continue to make at Nativity will make all the difference in their lives.

Would you believe my kids actually asked to go to church this morning (Sunday), even though we went last night?  If you go to Nativity, you do.

Here are a few photographs of my beautiful girl.
