Maryland Newborn Hospital Photographer | A Howard County Family's Fresh 48 Photo Session

As a Maryland newborn photographer, I am privileged to share in the excitement of a family’s welcoming their new baby. I particularly enjoyed my time with this wonderful family, who I met a couple months ago when we shot their maternity photographs in their Howard County home. (You can check out my favorite photographs from that session here.) At that time, it was just mom, dad, and their completely adorable two year old daughter. Shooting their maternity photographs allowed us the opportunity to get to know each other before I stepped into their hospital room for their Fresh 48 newborn photo session. It is always ideal for me to get to know a family before walking into the intimate and personal space of a family’s postpartum hospital room for a Fresh 48 session, either through a maternity session or just a short get-together for coffee.

Fast forward a couple months and I’m greeting the sweetest, less than 24 hours old newborn baby boy and his proud parents. Unfortunately, much to all our disappointment, his big sister wasn’t allowed to visit the hospital due to flu season visitor restrictions. Nevertheless, we we able to document this special time between these parents and their second born baby and first born son in what I think are really beautiful, authentic photographs. And have no fear, we’ll have the opportunity for some sibling interaction and a full family photo at their upcoming in-home newborn session in a couple weeks. I can’t wait!
