Four Kids in a Bookstore, a Hatshop and Just Goofing Off
Here are some photographs from my family's first real day of spring break. Yesterday was a travel day, which left the kids pretty cranky today. Lots of bickering, whining, and fighting. Remarkably, however, there were a few times when it ceased. First, when the three girls got outside just to run around. (Shocking...the outdoors cures whineyness....who knew!). The second was when we found a bookstore. The one thing that all four of my kids share is a love of reading. The older three adore many of the same series. It was fun to watch them finally get along when as they explored a bookstore--sharing the newest books in their favorite series, or showing another a book they thought he would like. The last image is of my daughter holding a waffle. I never buy these at home, but there was a specific request made, and given that I don't feel like being a short order cook on vacation, I grabbed a couple boxes. I had no idea how much these kids loved toaster waffles. I think the two boxes I purchased were gone within 24 hours.
So it was a very successful first day.
